Karen Blair – Varsity Coach   (277-63 and Two State Championships)

Karen Blair is in her third year as head coach of the Ballard girl’s basketball team.  In her first two seasons at the helm she has helped guide the Beavers to the Kingco District Tournament where the team won a playoff game for the first time in a number of years.  Karen previously spent 11 years as head coach at her alma mater, Meadowdale High School in Lynnwood. She built a highly successful program at Meadowdale, leading the Mavericks to ten Wesco League championships, six Northwest District titles, and two state crowns (2000 and 2004). Her current overall coaching record is an impressive 277-63, including an in conference mark of 177-25.

Coach Blair has been honored as Seattle Post-Intelligencer Coach of the Year (2005), Seattle Times Coach of the Year (1996, 2001), and Everett Herald Sports Woman of the Year (2000). Karen played basketball at Meadowdale and for Seattle University. When she is not coaching Karen is working at the Boeing Company as an initiatives manager or spending time with her husband, Rocky.
